Doric Drawing Workshop at Tulane

This course introduced the Doric order through freehand drawing. Participants learned to lay out the Doric column, entablature and pediment as described by Vignola, a Renaissance architect. The class culminated in the drawing of a simple Doric temple façade. By carefully drawing this order, students began to understand its proportional principles, tectonic nature and beauty.
